The Swan 601 is a high-performance sailing yacht – very light for her size and designed to sail at high speeds. She embodies the Nautor’s Swan vision of a top-class IRC design Racer/Cruiser. She utilizes the most advanced building techniques and materials, without compromising on the classic lines and beautifully crafted interiors, which are associated with every Swan built.
Wohpe has been carefully designed both in terms of deck layout, exterior finish and interior details to provide a striking looking boat which races competitively under IRC as well as providing a comfortable home whilst cruising (and racing) offshore. Primary and mainsheet winches are electric powered.
The extensive use of carbon fibre in her structure makes this model particularly stiff for her weight and capable of outstanding performance.
The result is a truly competitive yacht without the restrictions of stripped out racers that make few concessions to cruising comfort. She was designed to be both raced and cruised short-handed as required. The owner has enjoyed very close racing with excellent results in the 2008 Swan Maxi Cup circuit in the Med and has also completed an ARC with non-sailing friends on board.
